Ultra Carry Ammo (3/5) Jan 3, 2008 Franklin Clark Odessa Te US
Owning a Ultra Carry 2 in the 45ACP it states in the owners manuel to use "Ball nose loads Only"
I have ran several JHP 230 grain Winchester loads through it. I've only ran 235 rounds through it and have experienced 3 feeding jams. I know the break in period is around 500 rounds.
I was wondering if anyone else is running JHP through their 45ACP and has any info from Kimber Mfg. in using this type load for self defense.
I also removed the slide and sent it back in to Kimber and had the 3 white dot sight installed
I'm glad I did it has deffinetly improved my shooting skill scoring 220 out of 260 on the shooting range.
Bad to the Bone (4/5) Dec 27, 2007 V. Jones Garland TX US
I just bought the Kimber UC II and I have put about 200 rounds through it without any jams. It is lightweight and very accurate as others have stated. The only problem I have is that the shells are sometimes ejected straight back into my face rather than to the side. But overall this is my carry handgun from now on and I am comfortable trusting my life to this Kimber.
Crimson Carry II (5/5) Sep 7, 2009 Jeff Holland Bountiful UT US
These short barreled guns MUST be gripped correctly... or FTE (Stovepipe) will occur...
This may be the cause of the "six jams" in 250 rounds... muzzle flip must be controlled.

I have a LEO friend who has carried his fore about five years... and had zero problems... he shoots a lot and he he is very good.

I currently carry a Kimber Crimson II and I am happy with it...
best of both worlds (5/5) Jan 23, 2012 William Russell Holt Taylorsville Ut US
I have ben shoting 1911s for 40 years and have shot almost all the curent and most of the ones no longer on the market. This is the best of all I have shot. Mine has crimson trace grips and I can keep a swinging target rocking until out of ammo. I trust my life to this little weapon and would like to own more Kimber products.
More Than Adequate (5/5) Jul 23, 2007 A. Nonymous V Wa US
I do not have a problem with how the weapon shoots. Grouping at the effective range is very good. I don't believe we carry a compact to use at 50 yards? It is accurate enough to hit what you're aiming at at that distance, but most confrontations take place within 21 feet (7 yards or less). I switched to Chip McCormick match grade magazines. The magazine follower has to be modified or the last round will feed like a Poseidon missle. Carrys well, shoots well, performs as designed.
Fine weapon (4/5) Apr 2, 2010 Larry Matthias Spokane Wa US
Experienced a few FTL because of the slide stop engaging after 3 - 4 rounds fired. It appears that the Remington green box 230g round nose ammo is moving forward slightly in the mag after firing, inadvertently engaging the stop. I'm replacing the slide stop with a new one being sent from Kimber. Accuracy is excellent. It held its own against my Ed Brown Special Forces full sized 1911. I've given the weapon a rating of "4" until I see if the FTL situation is fixed. A CC weapon MUST fire every time!
