15 yards (5/5) | Feb 26, 2008 | John Smith | Denver Co US |
Wow, 15 yards, that's amazing. What kind of accuracy do you get at 16 yards? I have an airsoft gun that shoots better than that.

3rd KIMBER................. (4/5) | Aug 18, 2010 | Mr Steve | Tampa FL US |
I have this pistol in addition to a Kimber Compact Custom and a Raptor. This ultra is certainly not as smooth as the other two but it is a very sweet shooter IF you find the right ammo/magazine combination. That is the key. Wilson mags work fine in the others but not in the ultra. Interesting enough, the cheaper Italian mags like Meggars and ACT MAG work flawlessly. The money factor has to be considered also. Springfield makes several models that are on par with this pistol and easier to disassemble. No pesky L shaped pin for the recoil spring. But the Kimber seems to be smoother and fits the hand nicely whereas the Springfield has its share of hard edges. Remember that this is not a SIG but this is also a slightly different type of pistol. Want high mileage? Get a SIG. Want cheaper selection? Go to a Springfield. Want a smooth shooter that covers most bases? Get a Kimber. Use 230 gr Speer for the best action feeding. Any pistol will have its share of hang-ups but alot feel (including me lately) that when one spends over $800 for a high line pistol..........it should not have any burps or misfeasance. SIGS or even the ridiculously priced HK's don't falter one bit so why can't Kimber get on the ball and reduce these 'break-in' jams? A Kimber is classy and alswys stands out in a crowd. You cannot go wrong with this very concealable pistol.

Annonymous (3/5) | Feb 10, 2007 | Annonymous | Buffalo NY US |
I have several handguns and find the kimber to be accurate only when at the range shooting shot after shot off a bench at 15 yards or less. Beyond 15 yards the shot placement is all over the place within a 12" group. For personal protection and concelled carry the gun is OK for accurancy within 15 yards but becomes questionable beyond that! Remember - a lesser caliber - more accurate shot placement - is better then a larger caliber in this situation. Bersea makes a handgun that is more accurate and at a third of the price of a kimber. Kimber makes a good handgun overall but in my opinion is overrated for the price you pay. Note! On a positive I have fired over 2000 rounds with this handgun and have had very few jammed rounds. At the ones jammed were with reloaded ammo.

Bad to the Bone (4/5) | Dec 27, 2007 | V. Jones | Garland TX US |
I just bought the Kimber UC II and I have put about 200 rounds through it without any jams. It is lightweight and very accurate as others have stated. The only problem I have is that the shells are sometimes ejected straight back into my face rather than to the side. But overall this is my carry handgun from now on and I am comfortable trusting my life to this Kimber.

Best compact I have owned (3/5) | Feb 12, 2008 | kyle Hilsinger | maricopa az US |
I got my kimber uc 2 last week and, so far, I am very impressed. I use it as my concealed carry weapon and it works great. It is light weight and very acurate. I will definately trust my life to this handgun. Just a comment to the guy complaining about its acuracy over 15 yards, it is a compact gun with a short barrel shooting a .45 caliber bullet, it is not made to be a long range target gun, but everything I have ever learned about guns is that a lot of the time bad grouping has more to do with the shooter than the gun. The wand is only as good as the magician. |

best of both worlds (5/5) | Jan 23, 2012 | William Russell Holt | Taylorsville Ut US |
I have ben shoting 1911s for 40 years and have shot almost all the curent and most of the ones no longer on the market. This is the best of all I have shot. Mine has crimson trace grips and I can keep a swinging target rocking until out of ammo. I trust my life to this little weapon and would like to own more Kimber products.

comflg (5/5) | Dec 7, 2009 | John Walz | Fort Myers FL US |
I have just recieved my Ultra carry II I have shot just 200 rounds through it and have not had any miss fires or fail to eject problems. I have the crimson site on it could not be more pleased. This gun carries easy and is easy to conceal. It takes a little to get used to the power of the 45 cal but the more I use it the better it gets.

Crimpson carry2 (3/5) | Jun 25, 2009 | Michael James | Fayetteville No US |
I have fired 250 rounds through this weapon and I've had six jams. This concerns me. I found that the stock sights were difficult to see firing at a black target so I changed to the night sights. This made a world of difference. AS far as the accuracy goes I put 16 rounds in a 2" hole at 30' away. If I can find out what to do about the jamming issue the gun will do the job. ***** Comments from The Armory. Michael, what you're experiencing with your Kimber is not unusual. That's the reason they say in the owner's manual that there's a 500 round break in period. To increase the accuracy of the Kimber they had to reduce the slop or "tighten the tolerance". The only drawback to this is that you have a break-in period. The tighter tolerance that Kimber went for increases the accuracy that you say you're enjoying. I would say that after the 500 round break in period the reliability will improve drastically. And of course any small frame pistol requires a firm grip which is normal. It becomes more noticeable on some of the newer polymer pistols which are lightweight. Overall I have found that all Kimber products are superior once you follow the standard recommended break in periods. Bill G. |

Crimson Carry II (5/5) | Sep 7, 2009 | Jeff Holland | Bountiful UT US |
These short barreled guns MUST be gripped correctly... or FTE (Stovepipe) will occur... This may be the cause of the "six jams" in 250 rounds... muzzle flip must be controlled. I have a LEO friend who has carried his fore about five years... and had zero problems... he shoots a lot and he he is very good. I currently carry a Kimber Crimson II and I am happy with it... |

Deadly Accurate (5/5) | Sep 10, 2006 | Richard Rini | Terre Haute IN US |
Right out of the box this pistol shot OK but jammed repeatedly about 15 out of 100 rounds. I sent is back to Kimber America Custom Shop and their engineers found it couldn't be fixed because the slide was completely out of specifications. They put a new slide on it and custom polished everything while adjusting the extractor too. Got it back - no jams for hundreds of rounds. AND now shoots GREAT: .5 inch to 1 inch groups at 7 to 10 yards. Crisp trigger, fast draw and great ballance. Great gun. |
