Good small carry gun (3/5) Jul 8, 2006 Anonymous
Traded a Mossberg 590 for a slightly used Kimber Ultra Carry II w/night sights. Put 350 rounds downrange, Remington Golden Sabers.
Shot at 25 yds, 15 yds, & 7 yds. 50 rounds per cycle, going from 25-7yds. (FBI qualification course) Usually hit paper about 40 times. Maybe 25 rounds on target w/ 4-5 in the black. Gun can shoot straight but it is a bit of a handfull. Approximately 10-15 minor malfunctions all due to the horrible magazines Kimber provides. They are trash, throw them out immediatly. Overall tight small package. Short range use, inside 15yds.
Deadly Accurate (5/5) Sep 10, 2006 Richard Rini Terre Haute IN US
Right out of the box this pistol shot OK but jammed repeatedly about 15 out of 100 rounds. I sent is back to Kimber America Custom Shop and their engineers found it couldn't be fixed because the slide was completely out of specifications. They put a new slide on it and custom polished everything while adjusting the extractor too. Got it back - no jams for hundreds of rounds. AND now shoots GREAT: .5 inch to 1 inch groups at 7 to 10 yards. Crisp trigger, fast draw and great ballance. Great gun.

I have several handguns and find the kimber to be accurate only when at the range shooting shot after shot off a bench at 15 yards or less. Beyond 15 yards the shot placement is all over the place within a 12" group. For personal protection and concelled carry the gun is OK for accurancy within 15 yards but becomes questionable beyond that! Remember - a lesser caliber - more accurate shot placement - is better then a larger caliber in this situation. Bersea makes a handgun that is more accurate and at a third of the price of a kimber. Kimber makes a good handgun overall but in my opinion is overrated for the price you pay. Note! On a positive I have fired over 2000 rounds with this handgun and have had very few jammed rounds. At the ones jammed were with reloaded ammo.

I've shot many different handguns but the ultra carry 2 is my favorite! It is deadly accurate up to 15 yards and conceals very well.
More Than Adequate (5/5) Jul 23, 2007 A. Nonymous V Wa US
I do not have a problem with how the weapon shoots. Grouping at the effective range is very good. I don't believe we carry a compact to use at 50 yards? It is accurate enough to hit what you're aiming at at that distance, but most confrontations take place within 21 feet (7 yards or less). I switched to Chip McCormick match grade magazines. The magazine follower has to be modified or the last round will feed like a Poseidon missle. Carrys well, shoots well, performs as designed.
Bad to the Bone (4/5) Dec 27, 2007 V. Jones Garland TX US
I just bought the Kimber UC II and I have put about 200 rounds through it without any jams. It is lightweight and very accurate as others have stated. The only problem I have is that the shells are sometimes ejected straight back into my face rather than to the side. But overall this is my carry handgun from now on and I am comfortable trusting my life to this Kimber.
Ultra Carry Ammo (3/5) Jan 3, 2008 Franklin Clark Odessa Te US
Owning a Ultra Carry 2 in the 45ACP it states in the owners manuel to use "Ball nose loads Only"
I have ran several JHP 230 grain Winchester loads through it. I've only ran 235 rounds through it and have experienced 3 feeding jams. I know the break in period is around 500 rounds.
I was wondering if anyone else is running JHP through their 45ACP and has any info from Kimber Mfg. in using this type load for self defense.
I also removed the slide and sent it back in to Kimber and had the 3 white dot sight installed
I'm glad I did it has deffinetly improved my shooting skill scoring 220 out of 260 on the shooting range.
Best compact I have owned (3/5) Feb 12, 2008 kyle Hilsinger maricopa az US
I got my kimber uc 2 last week and, so far, I am very impressed. I use it as my concealed carry weapon and it works great. It is light weight and very acurate. I will definately trust my life to this handgun.

Just a comment to the guy complaining about its acuracy over 15 yards, it is a compact gun with a short barrel shooting a .45 caliber bullet, it is not made to be a long range target gun, but everything I have ever learned about guns is that a lot of the time bad grouping has more to do with the shooter than the gun. The wand is only as good as the magician.
15 yards (5/5) Feb 26, 2008 John Smith Denver Co US
Wow, 15 yards, that's amazing. What kind of accuracy do you get at 16 yards? I have an airsoft gun that shoots better than that.
