I have just recieved my Ultra carry II I have shot just 200 rounds through it and have not had any miss fires or fail to eject problems. I have the crimson site on it could not be more pleased. This gun carries easy and is easy to conceal. It takes a little to get used to the power of the 45 cal but the more I use it the better it gets.

Back again. I inadvertently gave 3 stars last time, when I meant five. This is my third post. (read earlier posts) I am approaching 1500 rounds through this pistol. No further jams, stove-pipes, or FTF, FTE. I fired 230g ball until about 750 rounds fired. Since then have fired a mix of ball and JHP. No problems with the JHP's in probably 300 rounds fired. Like the 230g Speer Gold Dot, but have not found good ballistic data. (Seems to be the sh*t for snub .38) |

Crimson Carry II (5/5) | Sep 7, 2009 | Jeff Holland | Bountiful UT US |
These short barreled guns MUST be gripped correctly... or FTE (Stovepipe) will occur... This may be the cause of the "six jams" in 250 rounds... muzzle flip must be controlled. I have a LEO friend who has carried his fore about five years... and had zero problems... he shoots a lot and he he is very good. I currently carry a Kimber Crimson II and I am happy with it... |

I have fired 250 rounds through this weapon and I've had six jams. This concerns me. I found that the stock sights were difficult to see firing at a black target so I changed to the night sights. This made a world of difference. AS far as the accuracy goes I put 16 rounds in a 2" hole at 30' away. If I can find out what to do about the jamming issue the gun will do the job. ***** Comments from The Armory. Michael, what you're experiencing with your Kimber is not unusual. That's the reason they say in the owner's manual that there's a 500 round break in period. To increase the accuracy of the Kimber they had to reduce the slop or "tighten the tolerance". The only drawback to this is that you have a break-in period. The tighter tolerance that Kimber went for increases the accuracy that you say you're enjoying. I would say that after the 500 round break in period the reliability will improve drastically. And of course any small frame pistol requires a firm grip which is normal. It becomes more noticeable on some of the newer polymer pistols which are lightweight. Overall I have found that all Kimber products are superior once you follow the standard recommended break in periods. Bill G. |

Nice gun, field stripping instructions in the manual are extremely poor. Took a chunk of my flesh in middle finger trying to follow manual. Internet offers videos that make field stripping seem like childs play. Thank god for them.

See my ealier Sept 08 post. I am just shy of 700 rounds. (Been a cold winter in MN and haven't gotten to the range as much.) I have only had one additional jam since the last post while a friend was firing. Believe that was likely to do to limp wristing. Otherwise no problems. Have introduced various JHP rounds ranging from 185g to 230g without issue. Haven't found good data on balistics/ terminal performance out of 3' inch barell, so still searching for a JHP carry load to test in bulk. Recommendations welcome. No + P ammo fired. All standard pressure. Bought two additional Kimber factory mags. Both have worked fine, although others recommend Wilson mags. Have not yet changed springs and plan to keep shooting until it becomes a noticeable issue. Want to find the outer range of reliability on that and then will post the results. Until then, will continue to carry my snubbies. Still extremely pleased with this pistol. Out here. |

Great gun (5/5) | Dec 30, 2008 | Anonymous
This is the first Kimber I have owned. I could not believe how great this gun is. I shot 100 rounds through the gun today. I can't believe the accuracy of a gun this short. I was also impressed with how little the gun kicks. This was quite surprising. Great trigger as well.

Love it (5/5) | Nov 3, 2008 | Jerry Cool | Sartell MN US |
As an ex-cop and former Marine, I have a quite a bit of shooting experience. I took my Colt Series 70 .45 with a 5 inch barrel and my Kimber Ultra Carry II Stainless to the range. I have had no malfunctions with my Kimber during the break in period but at 25 feet my Kimber had a baseball size group which was better than I could due with my trusty old Colt.

I own 3 Kimber 45's...I carry a Pro carry blued for duty and off duty....had a few jams at the start....have fired over 3000 rounds through it now and it is 100% reliable.....put may life on it every day....most of my jams were not having a firm grip on the gun...my duty load is Winchester 230 SXT's...also shoots Hornady 230+p's very well |
