kimber ultra carry 2 (5/5) | Apr 18, 2011 | Stacey Dellapenna | Brandon Mi US |
Right out of the box,This pistol started Cranking them out shooting golden sabers, not even one jam occured.I had a little field stripping problem, due to tight tolerances, but got passed all that.this is my third Kimber, such a fine piece of machinery, with all this feedback im hearing,I sure hope i never run into these problems, and ive only put 250 rounds into my breakin period.I love my Kimber ultra carry 2.Good luck to those who have their problems, lets hope customer service gets better from what ive been reading/hearing .

I have several handguns and find the kimber to be accurate only when at the range shooting shot after shot off a bench at 15 yards or less. Beyond 15 yards the shot placement is all over the place within a 12" group. For personal protection and concelled carry the gun is OK for accurancy within 15 yards but becomes questionable beyond that! Remember - a lesser caliber - more accurate shot placement - is better then a larger caliber in this situation. Bersea makes a handgun that is more accurate and at a third of the price of a kimber. Kimber makes a good handgun overall but in my opinion is overrated for the price you pay. Note! On a positive I have fired over 2000 rounds with this handgun and have had very few jammed rounds. At the ones jammed were with reloaded ammo.

15 yards (5/5) | Feb 26, 2008 | John Smith | Denver Co US |
Wow, 15 yards, that's amazing. What kind of accuracy do you get at 16 yards? I have an airsoft gun that shoots better than that.

Nice gun, field stripping instructions in the manual are extremely poor. Took a chunk of my flesh in middle finger trying to follow manual. Internet offers videos that make field stripping seem like childs play. Thank god for them.

Great Accuracy (5/5) | Oct 24, 2010 | Mr. John | Eureka CA US |
I was surprised at the 25 yd. accuracy. seven round groups of 6" with 230 grain round nose reloads. no jams, smooth cycling. Cleaned and lubricated before before 1st and after each shooting session. Tight grip helps.

Crimpson carry2 (3/5) | Jun 25, 2009 | Michael James | Fayetteville No US |
I have fired 250 rounds through this weapon and I've had six jams. This concerns me. I found that the stock sights were difficult to see firing at a black target so I changed to the night sights. This made a world of difference. AS far as the accuracy goes I put 16 rounds in a 2" hole at 30' away. If I can find out what to do about the jamming issue the gun will do the job. ***** Comments from The Armory. Michael, what you're experiencing with your Kimber is not unusual. That's the reason they say in the owner's manual that there's a 500 round break in period. To increase the accuracy of the Kimber they had to reduce the slop or "tighten the tolerance". The only drawback to this is that you have a break-in period. The tighter tolerance that Kimber went for increases the accuracy that you say you're enjoying. I would say that after the 500 round break in period the reliability will improve drastically. And of course any small frame pistol requires a firm grip which is normal. It becomes more noticeable on some of the newer polymer pistols which are lightweight. Overall I have found that all Kimber products are superior once you follow the standard recommended break in periods. Bill G. |

matt (5/5) | Jul 3, 2008 | matt davis | florence al US |
i bought this gun thinking that it would only be a carry gun and would not be accurate at more than 7 yards.BOY was i wrong!!! I shot a 5in group at 75feet!!!! the first time i shot it.i have a glock with a matchgrade barrel and it has a 4inch barrel, lets just say that i dont shoot anywhere near what i shoot with this kimber.yes it does jam and it locks back when the last round is in the chamber and wont fully close but after it is broke in you wont have that problem.i rate this 5 stars because of how accurate this gun is.

I have just recieved my Ultra carry II I have shot just 200 rounds through it and have not had any miss fires or fail to eject problems. I have the crimson site on it could not be more pleased. This gun carries easy and is easy to conceal. It takes a little to get used to the power of the 45 cal but the more I use it the better it gets.

Bad to the Bone (4/5) | Dec 27, 2007 | V. Jones | Garland TX US |
I just bought the Kimber UC II and I have put about 200 rounds through it without any jams. It is lightweight and very accurate as others have stated. The only problem I have is that the shells are sometimes ejected straight back into my face rather than to the side. But overall this is my carry handgun from now on and I am comfortable trusting my life to this Kimber.

smoove gun (4/5) | Sep 7, 2010 | Seria "LV" | Lake Charles LA US |
Got me one of them thare stainless Ultra Carry II in 2004. At first there were feed and ejection problems o' plenty. The spring assembly kept unscrewing loose during firing and sometimes the rod would fall out. I was so disappointed for all this unreliability in a $800+ gun. I can still hear the laughs now. Everytime my Kimber fell apart, so did my reputation and pride. If I didn't hear the rod ping the deck, I would've lost the dang thing. I called Kimber and the nice lady sent me a new spring assembly. Everything has been smoove since then. Certain hollowpoints get snagged on the steep ramp if the tips ain't smoove. Accuracy? The gun can shoot better than I can see. These 3 inch groups at 25 yards I read about, dang I can't even see a 3 inch object to aim on at 25 yards. I have a tough time centering small targets on the HUGE tritium sights. On the other hand, I ain't hardly ever missed a torso sized cardboard target at that distance with this combo, even at high rates o' fire. Not to brag, but if I take my time, even at 25 yds, I get 'em in the "A" zone every time, 95% of the time. I reckon I could be more precise with a thin blade up front and narrow gaps in the rear. When I compare the trigger to other people's guns, usually ones commonly issued by the police and such, the Kimber makes it a lot easier to shoot well, ain't no wait in the trigger while I hold sight picture, I tap it, and the gun spits out a bullet somewhere behind the front sight post. I heard that beginners ought not start with a single action 1911 though because beginners tend to lay a finger on the trigger and press before they get a good sight picture. I'd give this gun 5 stars if it could shoot 16,000,000 rds without replacing this or that, like a Glock. I'd give a Glock 5 stars if it could feel like this gun. |
