Deadly Accurate (5/5) Sep 10, 2006 Richard Rini Terre Haute IN US
Right out of the box this pistol shot OK but jammed repeatedly about 15 out of 100 rounds. I sent is back to Kimber America Custom Shop and their engineers found it couldn't be fixed because the slide was completely out of specifications. They put a new slide on it and custom polished everything while adjusting the extractor too. Got it back - no jams for hundreds of rounds. AND now shoots GREAT: .5 inch to 1 inch groups at 7 to 10 yards. Crisp trigger, fast draw and great ballance. Great gun.

I've shot many different handguns but the ultra carry 2 is my favorite! It is deadly accurate up to 15 yards and conceals very well.
More Than Adequate (5/5) Jul 23, 2007 A. Nonymous V Wa US
I do not have a problem with how the weapon shoots. Grouping at the effective range is very good. I don't believe we carry a compact to use at 50 yards? It is accurate enough to hit what you're aiming at at that distance, but most confrontations take place within 21 feet (7 yards or less). I switched to Chip McCormick match grade magazines. The magazine follower has to be modified or the last round will feed like a Poseidon missle. Carrys well, shoots well, performs as designed.
15 yards (5/5) Feb 26, 2008 John Smith Denver Co US
Wow, 15 yards, that's amazing. What kind of accuracy do you get at 16 yards? I have an airsoft gun that shoots better than that.
UPDATE to my previous comment about "What a disappointment!" (5/5) Apr 14, 2008 Dean E. Portland OR US
Previously, I wrote that this gun malfunctioned, not feeding, jamming etc and basically "stinks."
Well after reading Bill's reply I kept the gun and did the break in. I'm now at about
600 rounds and the gun is firing much better! I do get some jams and failure to feed
but I think it's due to the blazer ammo that I using at the range (have to use that
"clean" ammo at this range).

The good news is that I found a hollow point that seems to work
perfectly with this gun! I've fired 72 rounds and not one jam or
misfeed. I'm using Federal's hydr-shok 165grain. Less recoil
too. It's a very smooth shiny bullet that is somewhat hexagon shape
at the tip so it doesn't get jammed on the "loading ramp" of the barrel
(my theory). My feeding problems were at the ramp.

They're expensive at over a buck a pop but for self-defensive
who cares. I'll keep testing and fire 150 rounds before I have
almost complete confidence in this ammo for self defense carry.

As far as accuracy this is a nice shooter.

great (5/5) May 16, 2008 Dick Diamondstone Turtle creek Pa US
I'm a former Army shooter, with a lot of experience shooting all kinds of pistols, target and otherwise. This is a phenomenal gun. I shoot 50% at 21 feet, 1 & 2-handeed and 50% at 25 yards, all 2-handed. I use reloads that I cut the brass to length for a perfect fit, and I do not have jams at all. The gun needs cleaned when you're done shooting, but as a former Army shooter, that's the habit I'm in. My groups are under 1" at 21 feet, and at 25 yards I regularly shoot all 28 shots (4 clips) 8 ring or better on a standard 25 yard match target. I only mention all this because I get tired of hearing people at the range say their gun (any gun) isn't accurate. Get a few shooting lessons, guys...it ain't the gun!

i bought this gun thinking that it would only be a carry gun and would not be accurate at more than 7 yards.BOY was i wrong!!! I shot a 5in group at 75feet!!!! the first time i shot it.i have a glock with a matchgrade barrel and it has a 4inch barrel, lets just say that i dont shoot anywhere near what i shoot with this kimber.yes it does jam and it locks back when the last round is in the chamber and wont fully close but after it is broke in you wont have that problem.i rate this 5 stars because of how accurate this gun is.
Excellent Choice (5/5) Aug 8, 2008 Anonymous
I'm a police officer in a large Missouri city, and was searching for a good reliable/compact/light weight/powerful back-up pistol. After researching pistols on the internet, and talking with people much more knowledgable than myself, including our department armorer, I chose the Kimber Ultra Carry II, in blue, with wooded grips, and 3-dot fixed night sights. I've put approximately 250 rounds of ball ammo thru it, with no jams or malfunctions thus far. For a small pistol, it's amazingly accurate at 20-25 yards. Statistically, most shootings occur within 10-15 feet of one's target. So this pistol fits the bill.
Very Satisfied (5/5) Sep 28, 2008 marcus miller st. cloud mi US
I recently purchased the crimson ultra carry II. I am 325 rounds into the 500 round break-in period. During the first 75 rounds I had 3 failure to feed's - the slide locked open mid way through the magazine. Since then, the pistol has smoothed out. It has not jammed once. It is more accurate than I can shoot. Both the sights and laser were on right out of the box.

The take down and reassembly takes a little getting used, but really isn't an issue once you've done it a few times.

Still shooting 230 grain ball for the initial break-in, as recommended by Kimber. Will switch soon to JHP rounds soon.
