Corbon .45 for Hunting12/24/2008 BySteve Marks I'm a Pistol Hunter and for years have hunted by successful hiding in areas known to be frequented by Whitetails. In the past I've always used my old Colt Trooper MK III .357 with a load of 15.5 gr. 2400 and 150 gr. Sierra Soft Points. This year I decided to give my new Colt 1911 Series 80 a chance, since I always hunt at close range (I'm a true sportsman, not a mile-off yahoo). A direct heart shot at 25 yards with a Corbon 185 gr. +P almost knocked the deer over. unlike the .357! When butchered, I recovered the bullet and found it to be mushroomed to .82", with no apparent fragmenting! So, if you like to hunt like a sportsman, there's a new use for your .45!
WoW08/11/2005 ByJason Wagner I just shot the Corbon 45acp 200 gr jhp in my new Ruger Kp345pr and all I can say is WOW.
Awesome round, I normally shoot the standard CCI Blazer FMJ 230 gr for target, not anymore. I'll pay the extra money to shoot a round as smooth and accurate as this one is. 25 yard results CCi 3.50" group- Corbon 25 yard 1.75" group. I believe in targeting with the same ammo that I use for self defence.
