*** This is what I sent to the Gun Manufacturer. *** I purchased a PTR 91 KF on 8 Jan 2009 and sent in my Warranty Registration Card on 14 Jan 2009. It's a nice looking rifle and seemed to be well made. Yesterday I took the rifle out for the first time, the short of it I was very disappointed even got that sick feeling in my stomach. One of my first thoughts was "I spent $1300 for a piece of c@*p"! OK, this is what happened I have put an EoTech 512 on the rifle and was setup to sight it in. I shot my first round and it hit at the 5 o'clock position and 12 inches low, not to bad. Then I noticed that the empty round did not eject so I manually ejected it and made another shot, it didn't eject. I went through 40 rounds 2 different magazines a single shot at a time it never ejecting the spent round. On the third magazine it ejected 4 rounds but only loaded 3 rounds that fired and 1 round where the bolt did not completely close. The fourth magazine was single shot all the way not one was ejected. On the fifth and final magazine the first 5 rounds were single fire, then 5 rounds that ejected and loaded another round 4 of which fired, the remaining rounds were all single shot manually eject and load another round. Out of 100 rounds of Winchester ammunition the rifle only operated correctly 9 times. *** This is what I got back from the Gun Manufacture. *** Is the ammunition marked Winchester 7.62 x51 or .308.The 7.62 marked ammo is not winchester but IMI and has a tar sealant that melts in the chamber and causes the brass to stick. please clean the bore and chamber well and get some commercial .308 American eagle 150 gr fmj, Remington 150gr fmj or winchester white box marked .308 150gr fmj. and try the rifle with these. We have had alot of calls for this and the ammo has been the cause. ******** I'll make some one a good deal on 580Rds of this stuff! |
