I have found Burris to be the best value to cost ratio of the US made scopes.
Even the compact 3-9 X w/o parralax adjustment had me shooting MOA @ 200 yards (in a Styer SBS .308 with match ammo of course).
Tasco has some adjustable scopes that are prety good, and even less expensive.
Let's face it a .17 HMR is good to 200 Meters, you don't need a Ziess.
I'm thinking of a stainless chimpmunk in .17HMR, loose a tad in accuracy, a tad in velocity, a lot more lost in capacity, but not a bad backpack rifle.
And if they manage to get closer I'll take my master blaster chrome .32 PP out and wax their silly gnagsta' azz.
