I just got a Charles Daly 1911 5in model. I have a question it came with 2 8 round mags and on 15 round mag. When the Bullets are feeding into the chamber from any of the mags they will jam sometimes and I have to almost push the slide a little bit to get the bullet to feed. Does anybody know what might be causeing the gun to not feed proplerly?

You know, I had that happen to me also with my Sig P229 .357... I was using cheap ammo, and it has only happened with that ammo.

My thought is that it is related to that. I have a case of it left though.... so I'll deal with the issue for now.

The thing that my friends tell me is to keep the gun clean & lubricated. Shouldn't be a mechanical thing.

...but then, I'm a gun noob...

Well after having a gunsmith look at it, it turns out to be an extractor issue. I used 5 different types of ammo through it and still the same results. I am going to have to send it back to the factory to have the barrel replaced and the gun fine tuned.

i am having the same problem with my CD m-5, what other brands did you try before you came to the extractor? right now i am using federal hydroshock jhp and they work fine in my auto ord. 1911 after i switched from chip mccormick mags to wilson. so i was wondering if it could be the same thing for my cd. the only thing is mags are extremely hard to come by for this thing. it came with 1 10 rnd double stack mag and i bought a kimber 13 rnd mag for it that fits but the jamming has been with both mags.
