Thinking about buying my first .45, and was wondering if anyone had experience with AO?

Graveyards have more action......

Good question.

I just purchased an Auto-Ordnance Army WW2 copy 1911a1 in 45acp. I cleaned it and installed a full length guide rod w/18# recoil spring, lubed it up with some moly and off to the range to test fire it. We hammered it with 250rds between the 3 of us and it went thru it all without one stovepipe or jam the pistol is flawless. My local dealer had them for just $389. Right now I think he's up to $449.

I went insearch of a shooter, a beater, a low cost, a dependable and reliable 1911. I was looking for an IRA, S.A.M. or a Charles Daly but none were to be found. I only seen the Auto-Ordnance Army WW2 1911a1 and the G.I. "45" Springfield at my local dealer. I also purchased the Springfield Armoy "G.I. 45" model too a week later but i haven't shot it yet.

I been thinking of purchasing another Auto Ordnance Army 1911a1 WW2 copy while there still affordable.
