Makarov's

Post by norfdet » Sun Jul 09, 2006 3:28 pm

I just picked up a Makarov in a trade from Splitter. I did not like this pistol until I shot it and now that I have researched it a little, I am wondring why I did not get one a long time ago. I was impressed with the accuracy and from what I have read the trigger just gets better with time. There are not too many Makarov discussion boards on the interenet from what I have seen. With the popularity of these pistols in the past year or so you would think that more people are talking about them. They were largely overlooked for year, IMHO as junk or "cheap" it was only recently (within the past 12 to 18 months) that everyone caught on and supplies started drying up. BillS used to do a badass makeover on the makarov. I would consider sending this one somewhere for novak sights and possibly a change of finish.

I thought you'd like it. I thought the trigger was too long and heavy... I have read though, that it does get better.

While I had it, I liked it, but didn't love it.

I just bought a Wayne Novak tuned Browning Hi-Power. I shot it yesterday and had absolutely NO problem making head shots on a silhouette target at 25 yards. Wait until you see this, I am sure that YOU will have to have one!

Now I need to see if The Armory has any Browning Hi-Power mags and how much they are?

To be honest... I've been secretly wanting one. My nephew Eddie has one, pretty nice.

I've seen some very nice ones on Sigforum.... stainless with wood grips... jah baby!
