Identification/help

A friend of mine says he has a AK 47 and he said it was a Vepper in the 308win cal. And has a military sniper type scope on it.Haven,t recieved pictures as of yet.Can anybody ou there enlighten me on this firearms ect. Any info would be greatly appericated.

VEPR are high-end AK's, usually on milled receivers and similar to the Saiga rifles. As I recall, the mags were unique to them and they were "sporterized" like the Saigas. Overall finish seemed a lot like the Arsenal AK's that are out there now.
