AK-47 Build

Post by Bob Lyytinen » Wed Feb 08, 2006 7:56 pm

Hi all,

I'm new here and was wondering if anyone has done an AK build. I have started one with a laser cut and welded receiver with a romanian parts kit, TAPCO G2 trigger group and an A-6 stock.
Being my first attempt to build an AK; I have decided to do a screw build vice a rivet build. I think I'll get the best trunnion attachment with 1/4-28 button head allen screws.

If anyone has done an AK build and has any advice, please feel free to spread the knowledge.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Bob

I'm on my third flat build right now using rivets. It's not difficult to make a rivet crusher for the front trunnion from a bolt cutter. Just a couple hours work. You can buy or build the fixtures to allow you to crush the other rivets in a 12 ton press.

That Saiga looks great by the way!
