Burris Red Dot sights

What is the general thinking about this sight compared to an Aimpoint or an EOTech?

I believe that is the same sight as the S.P.O.T. Mark III sold by other vendors.

You can get them for around $150 with cantilever mount from G&R Tactical.

The consensus from some of the folks on AR15.com that have beat up on the SPOT MkIII is that it is better than the average red dot, but not quite to Eotech or Aimpoint standards. It's about the same or a little better than the Japanese made Hakko Tacpoints. Basically a pretty decent, durable optic, but possibly not something you'd want to take for a tour in Iraq or Afghanistan.

You might want to shop around for a better source than the one you linked to.

I have a Tacpoint with a 4MOA red dot which gives me 4"-5" groups at 100 meters with my AR-15 carbine. It hasn't lost zero even though I swap it out with other scopes. I would expect the Burris/SPOT red dot to do a bit better.

Regards,

Zip
