Did you ever get Nabbed?

Post by IZZY_T » Sun Jan 29, 2006 12:25 am

How many of you got cought palying with a parents firearm when you were a kid?

I did, It wasn't my idea, and we DID check to see it was unloaded.

But eventualy my mother figured out we were playing with her Baretta when she walked in and nabbed us dry firing it at each other.

SO...

She took us to the range, and taught us how to respect Firearms.

I was 8, my Brother was 11, and I was scared. I could hardly hit the target...that .380 was intimidating to me.

how bout y'all?

Guns in my home?

Post by scottc » Sun Jan 29, 2006 5:51 pm

Hell no, my parents are both anti gun liberals. I grandfather lived down stairs and had guns but I never went into his stuff. Once he died my grandmother also hates guns got them all out of the house.

Sorry to hear about your folks. I DO know how it feels, and it was not all "giggles with guns" when my brother came home with a pawn shop 12Ga.
My father is a good man, but his home life did rub off on him some.

My grandma is a life long RUSSuvelt democrat.

She is still mad at me forbuying my nephues first SQUIRT gun.

Little did she know grandpa had two revolvers and a 1890's winchester.
So he hid them in a safty deposit box, and gave the long gun to my dad.
Who sold it shortly after.

Mother was/is a little more gung ho than my dad...that's where I get it from.

Any relatives of yours give you ideas, or was it cowboy films?

(w/ me before 8 it was cowboy films on "U" channels)

My uncles all packed heat and were collectors. So I got the bug from both of them. I was always wanting to go to the range with them, mom never knew when I went though. Both my uncles thought shooting is an important skill for any American to learn. I am passing this on to all my kids.

It's great being a crazy Uncle.

It's also great to know from experiance.

I already gave his parent a Sloja' Swiss army knife, to be given on his 5th B-day.

Scott. et al. the next Generation is going to have to be TOUGHER , Smarter and Stronger than us... (see my replies to your post on Ethanol Fuel for the reason WHY...)
