How much ammo is enough

Ok, most of the people in the forum are regular customers of the Armory and as such know the characters who work behind the counter. We are all for the most part either active duty, retired or in some way same or form contected with the military. That said, most of us are very set in the idea the government is not there to protect us, and it is up to you to look out for your family and friends, as well as yourself. So this is my question, if the government breaks down and our cities fall into chaos, ala Katrina in New Orleans how much ammo would you want on hand for each major caliber you own.

Hey Scott!

I usually have about 1000 rds on hand..... that really isnt enough though. I firmly believe that I need at a minimum, 1000 rds of each caliber at the house....

...so, I should have 5000 rds on hand:

45ACP
40SW
357Sig
38Spl
9MM

hehe...

If you walk away alive.....then you had enough ammo. However, if you can pick them off from several hundred yards away then they can't get close enough for you to find out either.

I voted in your ammo poll and said 1000 rounds but I'd like to comment on that, I like to have 250 rounds on hand for everything. This does not include 22's or shotguns, most people have a 1000 22's or more and I would have to guess a lot more 12 ga- 20ga etc Bob :)
