Do you pefer a Pistol or a Revolver for carry? and why?

I prefer my G19 because...it's what I have the most experience with! I've never been a big revolver fan probably because I can't stand DA triggers.

As much as I like my G19 I'm looking at a Kimber Pro Carry II for my next purchase

When I carry I usually pick one:

I like to carry my Kel-Tac P3AT .380 pistol for warm weather carry.
For colder weather then I carry my Sig P232 .380 or my S&W 4506 45APC. When I'm in my car, I always have my S&W .357 revolver close by. Sig & S&W semi auto are my favorite.

During the summer; daytime fishing its my ruger 357mag 2 3/4" bbl
night time on my bike ruger redhawk 44mg 5 1/2bbl.
During the winter ruger redhawk 44mag 7 1/2" barrel

I don't carry pitsols that much, i do like them and have them.

I usually carry my P239, but sometimes alternate with my P229 (both in .40SW). Doesn't matter what season.

As soon as I can afford it, I'm gonna be carrying a P245... more bang for your proverbial buck.

I recently found a very dependable 45acp pistol its a Chinese Norinco 1911a1. I added a full length guide rod with an 18lb recoil spring and fitted a National Match barrel bushing and its an awesome shooter with very little recoil. It has sure changed my mind about putting my life on the line with an auto pistol. Owning a few new bad 1911's in the past kind of pushed me towards the revolvers more. I thought that stove piping and jamming was the norm with them. I'm finding out the 1911a1's rule too and they rock when their right. Now i just stick the 1911a1 in my pants chambered cocked 'n' locked and go out with a few extra mags of course.

I have a still brand new 1911a1 springfield in the safe since the early 90's that still jams. I had two bad colts in the late 70's/early 80's that were bad too. It was just my bad luck. I'm so happy with chinese norinco 1911a1 and finally getting a 45auto that works properly i went out and bought a new Auto-Ordnance Army WW2 copy 1911a1 45acp. Guess what I put in a full length guide rod and 18lb recoil spring and it functions properly too just as good as my norinco does. I guess the monkey is finally off my back with getting bad 1911's. Now i'll play with my 90's springer to get it right too.

Recently my new carry gun is a CZ82 in 9mm mak. For just $199 its hard to beat in excellent condition for a military surplus czech pistol.

I am a firm believer in the N.y carry method. I like to have one of my autos on my hip, and one of my snubies in my ankle holster.

A revolver and an auto, best of both worlds. Sometimes when the auto may not feel appropiate, its only the J-frame in the ankle. I know this is not the fastest deploy, but its better than being naked.

Hk.45 compact carried in a Blackhawk CQC. very comfortable.

My CZ82 9mm mak update. Its one of my favorites now to carry. I like the 12rd mags and the double action. You can't beat the low price too there just $219 now. Its a great piece for night fishing.

I was just too wrapped up in revolvers to know how good the pistols really are.

CZ gets the nod most days, either a compact, or a full size 75. Some days, like today it is a 1911. A .380 for church. A 357 revolver gets in the rotation some days and another does truck duty.
It is not as complicated as it sounds.
Remember shot placement is everything.

Since I tend to wear t-shirts ment for 10 year-olds, I am limited to very thin - low profile guns when carrying IWB. I've chosen a Walther PPS in 9mm for my daily carry, you'll be surprised how accurate the little thing is.

Summer = j-frame wheelgun. It's light and fits in a cargo pocket with a holster. The lighter gun is easier for me to carry wearing less clothing.
Winter = semi-auto. More rounds makes me happy.
