Taurus revolvers and internal locks

Post by norfdet » Fri Jan 06, 2006 8:01 am

Has anyone that owns a Taurus revolver with the internal lock ever had a problem with the gun "locking up" while shooting at the range? I have a friend who bought a NIB Taurus (j-frame size) .357 revolver. While at the range the pistol started having problems where it appeared that the interal lock would become engaged. Could this happen from the intertia of firing the gun? Can the internal lock be removed and still have a functioning gun? Has anyone else ever had this problem?

Also we were shooting Ultra-Max lead free 38 special ammo and it was pure CRAP. We had several rounds that failed to fire and others that took several hits from the firing pin to fire.

Crappy ammo huh?

Off topic.....

I use Aguila at the range and have had NO problems with it at all from either weapon. Great practice stuff.
