Longshots is right on also. The only reason I don't include Hornaday's system is that retro-fitting my 30 or so sets of dies becomes prohibitively expensive. If you start that way it's probably worth it. A vibrator cleaner is very handy, I use mine frequently. Hover, i didn't have one for the first ...

First, get a couple of reloading manuals, Sierra, Hornaday, Lyman, or Lee, and read them a couple of times. This will tell you what you are getting into and give you some idea of what you need. Second, decide your budget! You can get in cheaply, with a Lee kit, or somewhat more expensive with an RCB...

No wonder we're confused. This is part of a reply from Axel Eichendorff, living 10 miles from Kassel, Germany and part of the German Gun Collectors Association: W.B. Dixon, "European sporting Cartridges", lists 10 different cartridges between 10 and 11.15mm, 47mmcase length, on the Mauser A-base, le...

Cape Gun
Bill Post here what you thought it is. When you called last night we were about to leave for dinner, I had two conversations going on, and the phone broke. Not my best hour! If I remember right you said 11.1? x ??. If so, our joint measurement of the Neck would not have been .450 but something large...

Steve Go to Bob's in Norfolk upstairs range, or the one on VB Blvd. in Pembroke (upstairs range). For about $5 you can shoot any of the guns they have for rent. Shoot anything that looks interesting, take notes. Go home, sit and think about it, considering the comments above. Then go into the Armory...

Also consider the AR frame with a Beauwolf 50 upper mounted. Big hole and semi auto. It would take some attention, but sailors for years used steel cutlasses and muskets, so it must be possible to keep a steel gun useable. This would be a cabin gun that is designed to put big holes in the waterline ...

Congrats, Bill and Marie! I remember those awful hours. Me being a morning person, who works until 8pm most nights, they weren't very convienient. Even so, The Armory was and is more friendly and helpful than the other places in town. I'm probably your worst customer. I don't shoot military guns (ex...
