Re: My first rifle and shotgun

I'm one of those strange people that finds cleaning my guns to fun and relaxing. However, I don't clean excessively since there is always the risk of some wear and tear any time you push a metal cleaning rod down the barrel. A good wipe down is always a good idea. Besides, who doesn't like the smell...

Re: NOV 2012

Anyone But Obama 2012 :D It's a two horse race and I have no intention of wasting my vote on some write-in with zero chance of winning. Re: 9mm vs. 45

Still packing the .45 for daily carry, but the 9mm be a whole lot cheaper for practice and such. Now I need to get me a 1911 in 9mm (hopefully one with target sights). Maybe those helpful chaps at The Armory might have one lying around. :D

Re: short shotgun shells

I've had a similar issue with certain 12ga shells from Fiocchi in my Mossy 500. It does take a slightly different pump action to cycle them correctly. Here lately I'm sticking to the higher brass US made shells so they'll work in my Saiga 12 too.

OakRidgeStars reporting for duty

I didn't see a section for new members to introduce themselves, so I'll just post it here. My apologies if it's in the wrong forum. The name's Jay, just signed up today (yeah, that does rhyme). I hope I can contribute to the forum and maybe drum up a few new members as well. It sure is quiet 'round ...
