Introduced in the 1940s, the .30 Carbine round was used for the M1 Carbine and developed by Winchester. Based off of the 1906 .32 Winchester Self-Loading cartridge for the Winchester Model 1905 rifle, the .30 Carbine round is essentially a rimless version of that round. However, the .30 Carbine is still more powerful than its predecessor. The .30 Carbine is also commonly known as 7.32x33mm.
