I carry powerball 45 acp ammo in my Kimber 3 inch 1911 because it's the only ammo I have found to reliably expand out of my short barrel carry pistol. I have tried Speer gold dot hp's loaded for short barrels and none of the ten rounds I fired expanded at all. Remington Golden Saber gave the same results,as did Hi-Vels. All ten rounds of Powerball opened and deformed and had full weight retention. Any round that doesn't expand out of any firearm into the intended target may as well be a full metal jacket round which is intended to over penetrate. A plus for military applications, a bad idea for armed citizen applications. TEST FIRE THE AMMO YOU INTEND TO CARRY IN YOUR PISTOL BEFORE YOU DECIDE. I DID, AND I CARRY POWERBALL AMMO!!!! |

| I use this bulk 45 auto ammo in both my Bersa 45 UC PRO and my 1911's as SD loads. Great expansion and as I rotate my older ammo out I fire it at the range. No problems with this ammo after carrying it for 6 months. All my weapons at this with no FTF FTE.... | ||||
