I carry powerball ammo in my Kimber 3 inch 1911 because it's the only ammo I have found to reliably expand out of my short barrel carry pistol. I have tried Speer gold dot hp's loaded for short barrels and none of the ten rounds I fired expanded at all. Remington Golden Saber gave the same results,as did Hi-Vels. All ten rounds of Powerball opened and deformed and had full weight retention. Any round that doesn't expand out of any firearm into the intended target may as well be a full metal jacket round which is intended to over penetrate. A plus for military applications, a bad idea for armed citizen applications. TEST FIRE THE AMMO YOU INTEND TO CARRY IN YOUR PISTOL BEFORE YOU DECIDE. I DID, AND I CARRY POWERBALL AMMO!!!! |
