I couldn't use the sights it came with so I replaced them with Meprolight nite sights. The gun is very accurate but I've found I need to keep my loads around 900 ft./sec or it recoils so hard I don't want to shoot it. Favorite load, so far, is 200 grain semi wadcutter and 5 grains of bullseye.

Been a HK man since the beginning of time. My son is a Kimber man and talked me into purchasing the Pro Carry II for concealed carry. Man, out of the box ten X hole puncher! I was truly amazed. Have not to this point, 500 rds., had any problems. Also, an extremely comfortable carry gun.

When first received, I had multiple jams, ftfs, and stove pipes. Sent it back, and two weeks later I received a bullet proof gun. Will occassionally throw a casing at your face despite the extrawide ejector port. Recently shot 185 gr. flat nose that shot flawlessly, easier to shoot with less felt recoil and improved acuracy than 230s. Hits whatever I point at every time.

I just bought the Kimber Pro Carry Crimson II last week and took it to the range today. I couldn't believe that with the first magazine I almost blew out the bullseye out of the target... and it only got better the more I shot it! The Crmson Trace is sighted dead-on right out of the box. The gun is well balanced and clearly is a fine piece of craftmanship. I shot about three hundred rounds and only one round did not stage properly. By the way, you can buy after-market Kimber, Colt and Chip McCormack magazines that hold 8 rounds vice the single 7 shot magazine that comes with the gun. The only minor grievance is that the instructions for cleaning and disassembly are poorly written but I went on YouTube.com and they have videos on disassembly.assembly for Kimber Pro Carry. All in all, an incredible shooter and self-defense weapon! Beats my H&K P2000SK .40 hands down and that gun is no slouch either.

I bought the aluminum frame Pro Carry II. After the suggested break-in rounds, she's as smooth as your girlfriend's butt. However, on occassion, the FMJ roundnose will hang up. It took me a while to realize that the roundnose is slightly longer than the hollowpoints. The hollowpoints, any brand, flow through the action like wine at a wedding. Get yourself a pocket-full of Wilson Combat mags and go to town.

This gun makes you feel like you can shoot with the pros! Couldn't hit squat with my PT99 or SW 915, but with the Pro Carry, I can keep it all in the black at 20 yards. At 7 yards I turned a bullseye into one big hole - I've never done that before...

I had a co-worker who purchaced one of these pistols and couldn't stop talking about it. We shot it at a local range and within an hour, I was leaving with my very own. I also got a then anti-1911 guy to buy one as well. Like the review above, I have put maybe a couple thousand rounds through it and only had malfunctions with a well known cheap russian brand. It's powerful, accurate, lightweight, easy to maintain, well priced and looks great. Try one out and you'll be sold.

I carry this Kimber 1911 45 auto every day either in my backpack or in a Fobus holster, it is light and extremely accurate right out of the box. I have shot at least 1500 rounds to date with only 2 malfunctions (garbage Russian made steel case ammo) and of the 1500 rounds 1200 were steel case garbage ammo from Russia. Do the arithmetic and that is very impressive. Upgrade your magazines to Wilson combat 8 rounders and you have one great .45 auto handgun; they will feed anything you give it including stubborn hollow point defense rounds. Ejection is positive and follow up shots are fast with phenomenal control due to the standard size grip. I love this gun and would recommend it to any one who wants a .45. I have owned other high end brands and finally settled with the Kimber pro carry II with aluminum frame and standard sights.
